Extremely easy to use and is very handy if you have several hard drives around and do not wish to mount them in cases.
Bought this adapter some time ago -could be 2 years by now. It was junk.
Fits laptop and pc harddrives via an adapter. This works great, it came with a power cord too, which is useful if your trying to access stuff from a PC harddrive thats not in a pc. No problems at all.
I wasn't expecting much, but my Win XP machine recognized the drive right away and I was able to recover all the data. Commercial data recovery is both expensive and non-secure, so I thought it would be worth $30 to see if this drive had any life left in it.The kit comes with the adapter for two different kinds of drives (not SATA) and a power supply that plugs right into the back of your drive. I can see where people getting rid of old computers might want to keep the old drives in case there is some data they might need and didn't copy over. I thought all the data on my USB external drive was toast. On a hunch, I ripped open the casing (I practically needed a chisel) and found an IDE drive inside. I am very pleased with this bit of tech.As others have noted, this device will not win any awards for design or robust construction, but it did the job for me.
Dont knw what happend, but I swapped the usb to ide attachment with my friend and it worked for both us for few days. i wud suggest to spend $10 more and get something reliable than to waste time on this. I bought this product but it really didnt worked for me. then it completly stopped working.
